Mission Statements

Program Mission Statement:

Our residency program in obstetrics and gynecology at Loyola University Medical Center endeavors to create an academic environment that fosters individual professional development, advances surgical proficiency, promotes excellence in patient care and cultivates the life-long pursuit of medical knowledge.

Class of 2019 Mission Statement and Goals:

The class of 2019 will dare to be exceptional in every duty required of us, that we may continue the excellence of our program. First and foremost, we strive to carry on the brilliance in patient care through our deep respect for all patient conditions and our ever-widening depth of medical knowledge. It is our goal to obtain the knowledge and skills that will allow accuracy and efficiency in the medical wards, the outpatient setting, as well as the operating room. We will commit to being open, and receptive to all forms of constructive criticism, as we understand that we are currently beginning our quests to become great physicians. We believe teamwork is imperative, and we promise to support each other through difficulties and triumphs. In addition, we hope to contribute to the success of our co-residents, supporting individual goals and aiding one another in the pursuit of professional and personal growth. It is our collective goal to become proficient in evaluating and originating research, along with staying abreast with current literature that will sharpen us as obstetricians/gynecologists. We strive to be good teachers to those under our tutelage, as it is our obligation to pass on the knowledge and skills given to us. Ultimately, it is our goal to cultivate and contribute to a positive learning environment. It is our mission to continue the work of “treating the human spirit”.

Class of 2018 Mission Statement and Goals:

We the class of 2018 hereby declare our residency mission statement to develop the following three values: teamwork, patient-centered focus, and teaching. Teamwork will be our foundation of how to successfully navigate residency. This encompasses working together with each other and with all of our colleagues. It is the lens through which all else will filter, as we will always have each other’s backs and will proactively help one another achieve our personal goals. By working together as a cohesive team, we will be better able to deliver care that is truly patient-centered. On a daily basis, we will remind each other that, ultimately, we are here to serve our patients and they deserve our best regardless of any challenges or distractions.

We hope that this will encourage those around us to rise to a higher standard in fulfilling their respective roles. We intend to be inspiring teachers, approachable mentors, and to make the Ob/Gyn clerkship an incredible experience. In cultivating these traits we will become exceptional teachers, phenomenal teammates, and outstanding physicians.

Class of 2017 Mission Statement and Goals:

Our core values include patient centered care, professionalism, and life-long learning. We strive to provide compassionate care, which encompasses patient advocacy and prioritizing patient needs above our own.  We will treat the human spirit and learn to take ownership of our patients. As a team, we will continue to support each other emotionally and professionally.  We will also teach and motivate each other throughout our residency.  Our group will be flexible and respectful of each other’s needs. In our scholarship pursuit, we will never hesitate to ask questions and continue to be active learners.  We are part of a team and will continue our commitment to the academic pursuits of others.

Class of 2016 Mission Statement and Goals:

We hold our profession in highest regard. We aspire to be strong, dynamic and sympathetic as we serve our patients. We strive to always listen to our patients, anticipate their needs, and go above and beyond to improve their lives. As learners, we remain open to criticism and honest feedback because we believe that this will help to shape us into the best physicians possible. As individuals, we treasure quality time with our family and friends who help keep us grounded and honest. We are the class of 2016.
