Case #3 Questions:

  1. How would you diagnose vaginitis? 
  2. How would you manage each of the following findings:
    1. Vaginal fluid pH of >4.5 and clue cells seen on microscopic examination of a wet mount . 
    2. A fishy odor of vaginal discharge before or after addition of 10% KOH (whiff test). 
    3. A wet mount with an organism moving in a zig-zag like pattern.
    4. The presence of pseudohyphae on KOH and pH of <4.5.
