Case #1:

A 35 year-old male presents to the Cook County STD clinic with a 1.0 cm. ulcer on the penile shaft with smooth heaped up margins and a crusted base. He has had multiple sexual partners the past few months, has never had a STD, and has no known allergies. A directed physical examination reveals non-tender, rubbery groin adenopathy, an ulcerated penile lesion on the shaft, and no other mucous membrane lesions detected in the mouth or anus. There is no rash and no other adenopathy.
