Nodular Basal Cell Carcinoma of the Lip

A small, nodular basal cell carcinoma on the upper lip, appearing as a somewhat translucent papule. Lesions on the upper lip are more likely to be basal cell carcinomas, while lower lip lesions are more likely to be squamous cell carcinomas. The vast majority of basal cell carcinomas are located on the sun-exposed surfaces of the head and neck. Click for histology.
