Keeley presented her MPH capstone, Risk for West Nile virus transmission in mosquitoes and humans in Northern Cook County: a spatio-temporal approach, at the 2014 Illinois Mosquito & Vector Control Association and won the Henry Lawicki Student/Intern Competition.

New Research on EXtreme-Distance Running

Dr. Lara Dugas, MPH faculty member, is part of a team studying energy metabolism in extreme-distance runner. Among the key questions she hopes to answer are how does a person's body composition change during sustained endurance activity, and how do total energy expenditure and resting metabolic rate vary across the climates, altitudes and types of terrain the runners will encounter throughout the race.
